   Great as always.

Thanks, Bruce.

Bethel: In 1:25 I really like the steps going down. Your MOCs usually start on a baseplate and go up, so it’s nice to have one with depth.

Definitely. It’s a lot more time consuming to build with a ground level and then go below that, but it is a nice change of pace. Within this same set of stories, I also used upside down raised basplates to accomplish the same effect here and here, but that’s almost like cheating.

In the last pic, it’s nice that the baby also follows the Bethel color scheme.

I generally try to have the babies swathed in the proper colors, but maybe this time it stood out a little more.

Those not massacred: In 1:29, that wall that incorporates arches is outstanding! Also the railing at the top using headlights.

Thanks. I took so many photos of that scene, trying to capture it just right. And I ended up deciding to go with a vertical shot, which makes it only maybe the 3rd or 4th vertical shot in the whole Brick Testament site. I like the design of the Gezer city wall, but was worried it might look a little too much like a dam. :)

Purple arms look nicer with tan than orange, btw.

Yes, the Asherites aren’t known for their fashion sense, whereas the Zebulonites are pretty debonair.

In 1:33, the guy in the deepest water using the jumper plate is great. Have you done that before, or did you just use a head and arms?

I don’t think I’ve use the jumper plate for shoulders-above-water before. I thought it looked pretty good.

I like the amorites’ strategy in 1:35. :)

Have to keep these battle scenes interesting. :)

God sells...: I really like the “life” in the first scene. The building in the back left of that pic is really nice. I didn’t reallize bread came in so many colors.

I didn’t realize I had bread in that many colors either until I set up this shot.

The idols in 3:7 are clever.

They were roughly based on what images or sculptures have been found of “baals” and “asherahs” from ancient canaan.

   God lifting Othniel is funny.

I never know just how literally to interpret phrases like “Yahweh raised up a deliverer” or “Yahweh handed over the king to the Israelites”. I suppose it leaves a lot of room for illustrative interpretation, but sometimes erring on the side of too-literal is too amusing to pass up. :)

(...) Aha! I hadn't noticed that. I just assumed that those were the insides of some CRAPP that I'm unfamiliar with, but hadn't looked close enough to notice the undersides of the studs. Nice. Bruce (20 years ago, 10-Mar-05, to lugnet.build.ancient, FTX)
