Hi there,
If you look in an encyclopedia you can find a list of 7 wonders, but these "top
10 lists" of the ancient world eventually got rewritten. Whether that was
because the originals were gone, or too many new places were crying for
attention, I don't know. It was typical to use "the eighth wonder" as a
superlative, of the Colosseum for example. The writer Pausanias ("Guide to
Greece") liked to point out little known places as obviously overlooked wonders.
Some people have already worked on part of the original 7. You can find them if
you make a checklist and search a bit.
OK there's your mission should you choose to accept it...

| Hello Erik, thanks for your compliments and annotations. I surely would like to have some more tan slopes ;-) And in using them I discovered that you don't really need the tan bricks to build the original Pyramid, so that does give some perspective (...) (20 years ago, 31-May-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)
