(...) Simple asnwer... I don't like colour to much :) In grey the structure and lines of the building stand out better, so I kept it that way. With colours it very easy the look gets to "buzy". (...) I like the flat tiles on the roof, the coffered ceiling, and the trophies (shields?) around the inside. Also the use of corrugated bricks as columns. I haven't been able to think any Lego piece to represent fluted drums like that. My only (...) (21 years ago, 17-Apr-04, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Yeah, I've seen others use the lattice fences quite nicely as shutters, and it's even easier when you're only ever going to show one side of a building -- the other side can look sloppy if no one sees it.
