  Nice Big Armies

spotted this posted on RTL (URL) by a guy called Rick. I don't think I've seen him post over on this side of the web :) but there are some nice ideas there -- James Stacey ---...--- www.minifig.co.uk #925 - I'm a citizen of Legoland travelling (...)   Re: The Ten Plagues

(...) I agree that it's pretty much impossible to do this without cheating. One thing I though of was that you could build a fairly detailed mosquito at a larger scale, something like: (URL) then take a photo of this and in Photoshop cut it out and (...)   Re: Mmm

I am so surprised and pleased by these sets! I'd thought for sure the Adventurers line was dead and gone. But they are back and in the Orient?! Wahoo! They are really bordering on an ancient theme here! The Oriental palace is stunning. It's almost (...) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: The Ten Plagues

(...) Yep, more cheating. But how else does one show boils? I suppose I could have used fire to actually change the shape of the plastic on the minifigs, and that would have made is still be all-LEGO. But burning LEGO seems like such a sacrilege. (...)   Re: The Ten Plagues

(...) If only I had enough trans red to cover the whole river! @8^) I was happy with the way the plain red river came out, though. Even in LEGO, there's just something eerie about the look or a river running red. (...) The lightsaber was a last (...) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: Mmm

(...) I'm thrilled about those Elephants...Light gray and Dark gray! The palace looks outstanding. Perhaps a Greek or Roman Adventure theme isn't so far off. -Kyle (URL) (22 years ago, 10-Oct-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: The Ten Plagues

Continued: Sixth (boils): Again, I kind of thought this was cheating. I do like that they actually bulge out though. Interesting octagonal building in the background during Moses and God's conversation. I'd like to see clearer pictures of that. (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: The Ten Plagues

(...) I have been. Some comments: First Plague (River into Blood): The red river is especially effective. I also like in the background of this photo: (URL) use of the lightsaber rod for a stream of blood. Also the bench in this picture: (URL) a (...) (22 years ago, 8-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: The Ten Plagues

(...) You know, I never bothered to count. @8^) Suffice it to say, a lot. It started last Christmas when my girlfriend, knowing I'd eventually illustrate the Plague of Frogs, ordered me 10 LEGO frogs on Bricklink. It took a few more Bricklink (...)   Re: The Ten Plagues

Hey Brendan, Wow! Big update. I'll go through more later, but I just looked through the plague of the frogs. -Very cute. How many of those frogs do you have? -I love them getting into everything. Sometimes they are in places without studs. Did you (...) (22 years ago, 4-Oct-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Re: The Burning Bush (and more)

(...) Thanks. @8^) (...) The Pharaoh's throne room had a black tile floor back in Joseph's generation. My original idea was to only introduce some subtle changes to the throne room for the Exodus stories, but then when I went to move the throne room (...)   Re: The Burning Bush (and more)

Hey Brendan, Continuing great work. My comments: God Takes Note - I particularly like the part where God is writing a note. :) I also really like the tile floor in your throne room. Burning Bush - I just noticed that you're using two capes to make a (...) (22 years ago, 24-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

Brendan, (with tongue firmly planted in cheek) What an amazing stroke of genius! Merchandising! What a great Idea!   Re: The Exodus begins

(...) I'm sorry for that, Brendan. I overlooked that in English striking down usualy means kill. I meant to say: strikes them to the ground. With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (22 years ago, 5-Sep-02, to lugnet.build.ancient)

  Re: The Exodus begins

(...) Ah, much thanks for pointing this out. This oversight has now been rectified. As stated in my comments above, Moses is not necessarily 'striking down' these unruly shepherds, according to my depiction, but he certainly is driving them away (...)
