Many years ago (1980?), I built a roller coaster using blue train track:
oval layout with a big hill on one side, a little hill on the other and
banked curves (outer rail raised by one brick). The hills were done with
curved rails mounted on their sides (sideways into plates). I used the old
metal axled 2x2 wheels.

If you pulled a car to the top of the big hill, it would coast down, around
the corner and over the little hill. I used about every brick and plate I
had at the time to build the supports, and it wasn't that stable.

Cheers

Just curious (and a little envious of K'NEX model - (URL) and (URL) - has anyone built or attempted to build a roller coaster model with LEGO? Sounds like it might be another exciting project. Regards, Ed Cox. (23 years ago, 12-Aug-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.loc.au)
