All this talk lately about L3P and how easy it is to use finally convinced me
to check it out...  And WOW!

I gotta say, Lars Hassing has created a truly amazing piece of work!  The
download only took a few seconds, the install only a couple minutes, and to my
amazement (because software rarely performs this effortlessly out of the box)
within 10 minutes I had myself a genuine POV data file representing some chess
pieces modeled in LEdit.  L3P is so cool.  It just works.  I didn't even have
to adjust the default camera angle or light sources.  (I did tweak the colors
some, though.)

Anyway, now my computer has things to chew up spare CPU cycles with while I do
other things.  :)

Here are the chess pieces:

Anyone else made chess sets out of LEGO?  I'd love to see them!

I guess I need to dig out my ldraw files of my chess set.  Mine uses a 4x4 size
and many outside corner slopes (what else? ;).
