I also have a very high failure rate, mostly because I'm easily distracted
and tend to go off on construction tangents. A typical building session for
me goes something like this: ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: Hm. This would
make an interesting fuselage for a space fighter. ::cobble, cobble,
cobble:: Oh. Submarine. ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: This is going
nowhere. I'll put this interesting lump aside and try working on that lump
I started two weeks ago. ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: Moon buggy. ::cobble,
cobble, cobble:: Tank? ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: Oh man, it's already
midnight. ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: The Bat Lord's Evil Steam Driven
Battlefield Death Machine! I can improve this (big mistake). ::cobble,
cobble cobble:: How did that go? ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: Okay. It's a
mech. ::cobble, cobble, cobble:: Hm. Nothing left except this interesting
lump that looks nothing like the interesting lump I started with. Oh well.
I guess I should try to get three hours of sleep now.
I'm amazed whenever I actually finish something. Even when I take the full
model visualization approach I always end up tweaking the result, usually to
death (aka, catastrophic tweaking).
