Hi again,

this morning I recieved another email from the Desert Express Management team
from Windhoek/Namibia! Anita writes:

Wunderbar!  Super!!!!  Looks stunning!  I have sent your mail to our
CEO, as well as to those involved with our locomotives.  Now what do I
have to do to get a replica of this in Windhoek?   Please let me know
about costs involved!

Holger, Namibia is nice and hot - we just did our first trip with Desert
Express to northern Namibia - namely to Mokuti Lodge on the border of
the Etosha National Park.  It was a stunning trip, und ich bin immer
noch müde....  [I am still tired...]

I will be doing a road show through Germany in February next year - in
exactly which city are you so that I can see whether it is on our
itinerary and we can have a beer together?

Here's wishing you and your family all the best for Xmas - have a white
one!

Fond regards from Namibia

What shall I reply?? How much is a MOC?? The immaterial costs are expressable
in money! But what would all the needed bricks costs, if I want to build a
second copy to give it to the Desert Express Team? There are many parts from a
live long collection in the LDX, for example the yellow antennas at the front
and end section of the engine: you need 8 in total - 4 I got out of 2 sets of
the cement mixer #6682 and 4 out of 2x Star Wars Naboo Fighter!!

And what about the blue 2x2 windows? 6 are needed - but the riding stable #6379
just has 5 of them! This goes on with even more bricks....

So what you guess???

Thanks for the ongoing discussion and using the LDX as new screen background!!

Regards,

Holger

(...) #6379 (...) I am _guessing_ here, and would say scour brickbay, baylit ect first, (come up with the rare pieces, (the antennas can be had from me for .12 each, for example), then add in the train parts, a reasonable amount for basic bricks. I (...) (24 years ago, 22-Dec-00, to lugnet.build)
