That is downright ingenious! I sort of see how it works from the
pictures, but I doubt if I could build one without instructions!

If I understand correctly, the up-and-down power for the legs comes from
the worm gear that is on the same axle that the legs pivot around, and
so the power goes smoothly from the worm to the gear, regardless of the
angle of the leg?

thanks for the comments yes, what you described is correct. the blades of the worm gear are angled acutely enough so that the up/down movement of the legs is not affected by the back/forth. with just one motor, you cant have too many axes of (...) (24 years ago, 12-Aug-00, to lugnet.build)
