I have been fascinated with 6-wide vehicles for awhile and I am planning to
build my first one soon. I'm thinking about trying my hand at a fire truck.
I've already checked out the Sixby Fire Tech home page
(http://members.aol.com/regult/sixby.html). Most excellent site! I've also
done a search on various LUGNET user groups for 6-wide, but most of the hits
seem pretty dated.
I was really pumped when I saw that LEGO had included a 6-wide tow truck in
the Tough Truck Rally set (#6617). I haven't bought one yet, but I'm
considering it. $50.00 seems a bit much to pay when all I want is the tow
truck. Anybody have a 6617 they are willing to "part out?" :-)
I was also excited to see the Flash Speeder set (#7124). Maybe some of those
parts can be used for building some 6-wides.
Enough rambling. Does the esteemed LEGO building community have any
suggestions or instructions (not .dat files as I have not been able to figure
out L-Draw yet) for building 6-wide vehicles? It seems like the trickiest
parts of building 6-wides are the axles (I'm planning to use the ones from
6589) and the windshield. Any other "gotcha's" of which I should be aware?
Any suggestions, pointers, etc. regarding building 6-wide vehicles would be
appreciated.
Thanks and happy building!
Karl
