While looking for closeout deals at Target (Orlando, FL) this afternoon, I
ran across the first Technic 1999 set.  It's the Police buggy (8252).  I
haven't built the set yet but it came with a 1999 Technic catalog and a 1999
Technic S@H insert.  There are some great new pictures of the new Supercar
(8448).

I'd like to upload some jpgs so that everyone can see these pictures.  I
just bought a scanner so this is pretty new to me.  I need to know:

1)  About what file size should each page be?  Is 150-200kb too big?

2)  Where and how do I send the scans once I've got them?

Any help would be appreciated.

Andy

Andrew,

2)  Feel free to upload them to:

      ftp://ftp.lugnet.com/incoming/

(If you're using a web browser as the ftp client, you should be able
drag & drop the files into the browser window after opening that URL.)

1)  Nope, 150-200kb isn't too big.  In fact, how about scanning the pages
at 150 dpi and saving them as maximum-quality JPEG images.  (Each file
will then be between 500Kb and 2000Kb.  I'll process them at this end
to make a reasonable compromise between file size and JPEG quality.
If they end up like the other 1999 images, they'll end up being about
200-400Kb each and extremely high quality in terms of detail and
    accuracy.

(...) May I ask what kind of processing you apply to get the best of quality out of the images? Not that I scan too many images, but if I did some day, this could be very useful. Fredrik (26 years ago, 25-Dec-98, to lugnet.build)
