(...) Cool tanks Carl! You'd probably get a kick out of my rendition of McDonald's Drive Thru (McD's courtesy of Ricky of GMLTC): (URL) care! Dan (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general) !

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) second .jpg add a very nice ambience to the whole scene. The only suggestion I'd make is that you need a Timmy tripping over to add that sense of "urgency" and, of course, that sense of "Timmy's doomed...yeah!" Great models all around, (...)           Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Daniel Siskind
(...) Thanks Carl! I don't think mine can compare at all to yours since they aren't based on an specific type and lack all of the amazing details on yours. Again, very nice! Dan (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) I dunno, they looked kind of like KV-Is or BT-20s to me. Terribly 1935-Soviet looking to me. best Lindsay (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Alan Gerber
(...) tanks crushing the symbol of capitalism, a McDonald's? Or did you just do this for the heck of it? Alan (25 years ago, 8-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Daniel Siskind
(...) Sorry Alan - I missed your question when you first posted and just stumbled across it tonight. To answer... YES there is an underlying political message to my scenario, although by no means in support of any state communist ideology! So long (...)         Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Fredrik Glöckner
(...) It looks great as usual! What is it that is powered on the tank, BTW? I see a power cord sticking out of it. It would also be cool to see some of the transmission details. I understand you have a Technic piston engine there, too? Fredrik (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Lindsay Frederick Braun
(...) Carl, As a long-time aficionado of Soviet armour, I can say that your T34/85 is gorgeous without reservation. It has a little element of JS-I to it (as did the real thing in later production iterations)--a much larger tank--and I love how (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Carl Greatrix
:) the tracks and 6 cylinder engine are motorised,(same as the Tiger 1) I didnt have enough room to motorise the turret turner, as I was able to with the Challenger tank. I have made the model so that the motor can be removed in a matter of seconds (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Joseph Gonzalez
i went back for more details and i have a couple of questions, carl. where do you get your great selection of grey parts, part auctions? also, i'm quite impressed with the standing turret that seems to rotate within the main chassis. is that a (...)          Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Carl Greatrix
Joseph, in answer to your question regarding the grey parts, they all come from many kits (no auctions) I own around 5 xwing kits and 7 snowspeeders :). The turret rotation is very smooth and uses a large 4 x 4 stud turntable with rounded base (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Kevin Knoot
(...) Another fabulous piece, bravo! On first glance, I thought you had actually modeled a KV-1, due to the high, straight sides of the turret Getting the proper contours of turrets is not an easy job, at least for me. It seems like the /76 model's (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Russian T34/85 Tank —Carl Greatrix
You are right, getting the angles of turrets is very difficult. The Tiger1 was relatively easy compared to the T34/85. I think this version is around the 6th rendition I attempted and I am still not completely happy with it, but it is close enough (...) (25 years ago, 5-Apr-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)
