Hello, I am attempting to build my own version of a Super Car, and I need some help. I don't actually own a super car, and I only own one "large" Technic set. So, I'm asking for some general advice on how to make a two to three speed transmission with just standard gears and axles. That's all. I have tried a few designs, only one of which has worked. Take a look at my car: www.technic-uk.co.uk and click on Neil's Technic creations. Although I do have the new supercar, the car in the article was built with much older Lego. Similar to the 8860 and 8865 designs, here's a very simple and compact one: As a carrier, have two 'beams' with 3 holes with 1.5 stud spacing (i.e. 2 standard beams, any size, and a 1-beam between them) with 5 studs of space between them.
