Best selection of parts to mess around with —Matt Marshall
Any sugestions on the best selection of parts to take to oh I don't know a really boring physics class and play with? I want to take my collection but I'm afraid it would disapear into the blackhole that is my backpack. Anyone else take selections (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Ummm, Matt. Here's my advice - free and worth every penny. Back when I was at the University of Waterloo, I was totally obsessed with reverse engineering my HP41 calculator. The PPC user's group had even created a special firmware port that (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: Best selection of parts to mess around with —Larry Pieniazek
Seconded. If you can write the exam before you start the class and get an A, you should just place out of the class and take a different one. If you can't do that, pay attention to each and every class. Physics is important. (not as important as (...) (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) Well, if I may jump in here to defend myself-- my only point is, if it's to what I think Lar is referring, is that I think scientists today (in general) think they've got a pretty good idea as to what's up in the universe. I say they don't (...) (25 years ago, 15-Oct-99, to lugnet.build)

<snip> (...) actually (...) Just what is wrong with those words? They are only "bad" because we think they are. It's just a self fufilling phrophecy(1) I mean they are very general purpose words, and unless used to intentionally insult someone they (...)       (...) Well, just to put the $.02 in that I never did, I'd say that when writing, either avoid swears all together, or use 'em. The insult/resentment of reading a swear is not in the word itself, as Jeremy pointed out, but in the intention. Hence, (...) (25 years ago, 26-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Best selection of parts to mess around with —Christopher Lannan
(...) here's a fun one I thought of a while back- Given- showing a man shirtless on TV with nipples exposed is ok. Given- showing a shirtless woman on TV is ok as long as we black out the nipples. Question- If I were to take the area of the woman's (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Best selection of parts to mess around with —Jeremy Sproat
(...) What cracks me up is that a woman's nipple is the single most useful item on the breast. It's like, showing a water fountain, but blacking out the nozzle. How did breasts get to be so obscene? IMO, a thong bikini is more obscene (and painful (...) (25 years ago, 22-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) You don't watch TV, but you hear these words on the Simpsons "all the time"? That's a neat trick! On which episode has the F word been used? I'm pretty sure I've seen them all, and I've never heard that. Dave! (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
