I just emerged from my dark ages and bought a box of LEGO with no
instructions at a yard sale. I've had pretty good luck (and a lot of
fun!) re-constructing most of the sets, but I have some pieces left
that I can't assign to sets.

Can anyone help me identify candidate sets for these printed pieces:

1x4 yellow tile with picture of a black wrench

6521 Emergency Repair Truck, probably.  The giveaway would be the printed 1x2x2
panels.

2x2 red tile with picture of flame (obviously fire dept, but which one?)
I have one in a 6593 Blaze Battler - there's also a 2x4 hose winch and frame
with flame logo.

2x2 white tile with picture of space shuttle
One of the Launch Command sets?

2x4x2 white "winch" with "coast guard" logo
Dunno, likewise the cargo hold.

I also have 16 light grey castle wall pieces, 2 with randon dark grey
stones, 1 with dark grey stones surrounding the window. I have no
special castle baseplates or other distinguishing pieces, so can't
identify which castle they may be from.

6073 Knight's Castle maybe?  Look for long 2x green plates, a red crank winch,
and a 1x8x2 red arch.

Other questions: Were the super-low slopes printed with a random rock
pattern used in anything other than set 6552 Rocky River Retreat?
(http://www.kl.net/scans/6000/6552/6552-14.jpg). I seem to have a few
more than needed. Was the divided river baseplate for that set used
anywhere else?
Slopes used in 6419 Rolling Acres Ranch, at least.  Baseplate not used anywhere
else, I don't believe - great baseplate, isn't it?  There's going to be a
pirate barricade on mine.  One of these days.

Thanks,
John Kornhaus

AFOL and his money are soon parted.
Love your sig, how true!

(...) That fits with some other pieces I have. Unfortunately, the side panels are missing. (...) I was hoping there was another set with that tile. I have enough parts to complete one 6593, but no ladder or hose winch for a second set. (...) (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)

(...) 6405 Sunset Stables as well; the Paradisa pieces in both sets are obvious, I'm sure, if that's what you have. (25 years ago, 8-Jul-99, to lugnet.build)
