Say, David, have you thought about modeling the mechanics of the gun in
LDraw?  I'm sure many people would love to see how it works on the inside!

Actually James Jessiman made an LDraw model way back when, but I don't
know where it is---at that time the technology I had at hand was
adequate only to reproduce the GIFs of each step, so that's what I
have on my Web page:  see the "Model 96" at
<http://www.shore.net/~karr/lego/shoot/machinegun.html>

I've made a few minor improvements since then and contemplate
others, so maybe it's time for the Model 99.  And this time I
*do* have the technology to do it in LDraw.

Wow!!!  Incredible!  Now that you mention it, I seem to remember visiting that
page about a year or two ago.  But there's still nothing like seeing it in the
flesh!  :)

If you can make it to the next adult play day at the Construction Site
(assuming they have one this summer), I could bring the camera and make a
little MPEG movie (up to 1 minute of video & sound on a floppy disk :) and you
could use that to help show the repeater mechanism in action if you'd like.
I forget how fast your gun fires (jaw was too busy dropping to notice a detail
like that :), but it seemed like at least a couple or three rounds per second?
Made a really neat clicking sound too!
