Scourge of the inner Solar System, space kitties have an affinity for traveling
spaceships, and will latch on to the nearest one available. Apparently they seek
the warmth radiating from the ship’s hull, especially around the engine and
windows, where the most thermal leakage occurs. Space kitties aren’t
particularly vicious, though they’ve been known to latch their teeth onto an
astronaut on occasion, especially ones who are flailing about like a loose ball
of string and drawing attention to themselves. Their typical food source is
unknown at this time—it could be space rats.
The real problem with these critters is their nanodander. These tiny allergens
pass through spacecraft hulls, and the best spacesuits, with ease. For nearly
99.9% of the population, it’s instant sneeze time as the tiny particles irritate
the lungs. And the snot-hurling spasms have no end! The only thing to do is
either get rid of the cute and cuddly sneeze-inducers by any means possible, or
simply RUN! The only people who seem to have immunity to nanodander are elderly
cat-ladies living by themselves on remote asteroids.
In the rare image provided below, a pride of space kitties is seen latched onto
a Blacktron’s trusty 918. Not even the legendary 918, or stoic Blacktons, are
immune to space-kitty nanodander.
