  Re: MOC 8436: Cranetruck

I'm pretty sure that soon you'll find a black, unmarked vehicle at your doorstep, from where two men in suits will emerge to ask you to join the Lego development group. Failure to comply will result in a direct assasination, since we all know (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: MOC 8436: Cranetruck

(...) Ughh... you're killing me here... I just got 8436 for Christmas... I want to build this... I need instructions... argh... I don't have your skills... I just want to recreate yours... Allow me to vent... When I was a kid the only frustrating (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: MOC 8436: Cranetruck

(...) (snip) (...) Wow! Superb model, and great presentation, your photography technique is very good. of course the most impressive bit is that you did it all with 8436. Wouldn't it be great if LEGO started making fan created alternate model (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: MOC 8436: Cranetruck

(...) That is really, really good - it has the essence/spirit of the real thing. It makes me want to break open the 8436 I have and build your model. Jennifer (21 years ago, 28-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.technic, FTX)

  MOC 8436: Cranetruck

Being inspired by the 4100 cranetruck, I decided to build another one a bit more challenging. So I transformed the 8436 truck into another cranetruck: (URL) It has many functions like pneumatic boom and stands, rotating cabin and ofcourse steering. (...)   Re: Is 1:40 minifig scale? (was Project YAMATO)

(...) If you use 1 inch = 1 meter, a minifig is about 4 1/2 feet tall, a good size to relate to kids, I think. Then use four studs = one "inch", or one meter. It's not really accurate, but it sure is easy! Tim (Smith) (21 years ago, 27-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, FTX)

Re: Is 1:40 minifig scale? (was Project YAMATO)

(...) Heh, I've done some checking... (URL) the answer is "whatever you think is right". Minifigs are just built very un-humanly. Very thick front-to-back, very wide, or very short. Or all three. In general, people usually derive scale by minifig (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military)

Is 1:40 minifig scale? (was Project YAMATO)

(...) Is 1:40 minifig scale? I'd like to ellicit a wide number of opnions because I'm just about to start building a (much smaller) minifig scale model. I assumed a minifig to be 6ft tall, giving me a ratio of 1 to 46 (rounded). The japanese are a (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-05, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: New invention instructions

Re: A little somethin' for everyone

Hello! (...) Yeah, I wonder what they were thinking when they disarticulated the elbows of the figs. That clearly is not an improvement.
