Why don't you ask your friend of you can buy *all* his LEGO if he hates
it so much? When I was 12 or 13, I bought my friend's entire collection
for $50, including a lot of classic space sets (he has an older
brother--that's where the older sets came from). The purchase about
doubled my collection and gave me some better containers for sorting.
The $50 seemed like a lot then--but not any more (I spent $145 on SW LEGO
over the weekend).
