I've got some on the way from lego.com right now. :)  I want to see how they
did what they did; maybe I'll get some good ideas.  Looks like they have
some new pieces, no?

The SW minis are tasty little parts packs - 80 pieces for $4, and half of
them rare colors in basic usable parts. Not new pieces but rare ones.

For example: orange 1x2 plates, dk.red and dk.blue 1x2 and 1x2 center stud
tile (and some little plates), smoky clear 1x1 tile. Clear 2x2 dishes. Gray,
dk.gray, and black 1x1 with studs on all sides!

The part I hate the most is the yellow palm tree bracket (2) on the pod racer.

I was going to type up the inventory but I got impatient and built them instead.

There is no denying these are clever models. Maybe you have seen all the
tricks already but I had not. Jonathan likes the Jedi starfighter. I like
'em all, even the pod racer...

Oh, there is a new Racer with a new part, a gray 1x2 plate to 2x2 right
angle bracket. Sort of like the common ladder, but with useful studs. I call
it the "Make your own Lion" piece as it reminds me of the lion head
decoration. Jonathan opened one in the store to see what color it was.* The
"driver" is dk.gray and it has tan parts. It is becoming increasingly
difficult to determine Lego part colors from the packaging, and even the
instructions.

Yes, the SW mini instructions are treacherous. It is very hard to tell apart
the shades of gray and smoke. Black usually looks like gray.

* Jonathan bought it - that hovering white angel got the better of the
little red devil this time.

(...) Yeah... I actually intentionally did that. To keep the "correct" scale, the cars would be 2x6, not 2x4. The shorter length makes them taller and "stubbier" somehow, and they remind me of the "Micro Machines" cars that my little brothers used (...) (21 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)
