it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
do you get it? I got a YJ myself and have been rather enamored with it, as such I bring you: (URL) a Jeep LJ (Lego Jeep), a brickier version of a TJ. Opening doors, hood and tailgate. Engine detail, onboard air, suspention lift, so on so forth. (...) (22 years ago, 27-Nov-02, to lugnet.build) !

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
(...) Thanks Bob! I'm a little sad the engine compartment doesn't look exactly like a Jeep 6cyl engine bay, but what the heck. It works. Besides the driver has a six pack to drown away any problems, so it's all good. Mark (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.build)

(...) Hey thanks, I hadn't even thought of these groups. (...) thnaks again. (...) Yeah, I'm with you on this one. I thought the full size spare looked a little overkill, but the only smaller tire's I got are way too small. I don't have one of those (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.modelteam)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Looks great! I love all the detail you've put into the body, the engine, the various accessories, the working suspension and fake drivetrain. It looks ready to tackle just about anything. I wonder how close it is in scale to the Cherokee (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
Thanks Bram! You know, I didn't set out to make it the same scale as your XJ but now that I check it out the tub on the LJ is 14 studs. (as long as you don't count the fender flares, then it's 18 studs. And the fender flares are only there to (...) (22 years ago, 28-Nov-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Adrian Drake
(...) Well, with the current set of 8466 tires on the Cherokee, I'd have to argue that it sits taller than your model :) (URL) job anyway. I would love to see these two sitting next to each other. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
(...) You'd be right I think. You know, I got a set of those tires myself. I gotta ask, how monter trucky I want to go :> (lessee, another lift, maybe a body lift, slip yoke eliminator, new ring and pinions; it could be done.... Maybe if Bram is (...)          RE: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Bram Lambrecht
(...) Well, the Cherokee is at Adrian's house...it's his LEGO after all. So you just need to come to Cleveland :) --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
(...) You know, one of these days, I'm gonna do just that. Make a big sweep of all the folks I've met. I'll just add Cleveland to the list. Mark (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Adrian Drake
(...) Or maybe if Adrian is going to NWBC next year he can bring it, since it's his Lego :) Otherwise, I can give it to him to bring, or you can come to Brickfest next year. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —George Haberberger
(...) Mark, Wow, that's awesome, is there some Lego contest you can enter that in, maybe the ISCC? Thanks, George (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
(...) You know I may when the next ISCC comes around. (if I'm eligible that is, isn't there a tire restriction? Can't be built before such a date sort of thing?) Really though, I just do this because I'm a complete loon and it makes me smile. Later (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —William R. Ward

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Mark Neumann
(...) Thanks Bill. I won't be at BW03, due to a baby on the way. However, I think some SEALUGgers are going to try to send some stuff down. I think the LJ would probably make the trip best out of what I have built. (...) Like I said, "it's a lego (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: it's a Lego Jeep thing —Adrian Drake
If it does make the trip, I might be convinced to figure out a way to bring Bram's and my Cherokee as well. I might refit it with some slightly smaller and more logical tires though, similar to yours (instead of the monster truck tires that it's (...) (22 years ago, 9-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)
