I'm despairing of ever having an 8880 model, so I was wondering how
much I could build using parts from other models. I've looked a
little at the scanned instructions that are online, but haven't gone
through all the pages. How much can I do without any specialized
parts from the kit?
I'm particularly interested in things like the suspension and
especially the gearing for the drive train. I'd love to build that
and play with it. Can that be built with generic Technic gears and
axles?
Thanks.

| you would have a hard time of it... it uses white suspention arms that are only found in 8880 and no where else. the drive train is mostly generic except for the gear shift which is also unique to 8880. (26 years ago, 9-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)
