Ok, several pics are up, at the bottom of the page

Hi, Mel.

G'day Brendan

I noticed the images on this page loaded rather slowly even though I'm on a
DSL, so I did a little investigating.  At first I thought it was just that
you are not using real thumbnails, but loading all the full-szie images into
the page, then telling the html to display them smaller, but it's somehow
worse than that.  Some of these "thumbnails" are larger in size than the
full-size versions of the images that they link to when clicked!

Not any more ;)... I have now finished page one, except notes which would be
on going.  I'm moving onto page two now, so the Gallery's 1st page should be
more up to your standards ;)... I hope :P

I must say... *apart from the obvious*... I am not nor do I see myself as a
computer/web site wiz... But I will get there... eventually ;)

For example, the small version of Eric Sophie's MOC on your page is 245k,
while full-size image on Brickshelf is only 172k.  Richard Parson's MOC is
118k on your site, but a mere 38k full-sized on Brickshelf.  And Zac Soden's
tank is 245k on your site, but the same thumbail on his website is only 18k.

Fixed!

For simplicity, you could just use the same thumbnails generated by
Brickshelf.  For example, Brickshelf's thumbnail of Eric Sohpie's MOC is
only 3k.  But if you want your own custom-size thumbnails, I suggest you do
something to add some jpg compression to these photos, because they're just
too big.  I pity the poor people on modems!

Yeah... I'm on modem ;)

By the way, I think this is a very cool idea.  I was considering suggesting
that LUGNET start its own MOC Hall of Fame, but was a bit worried that it
would lead to too much argument over how MOCs get 'inducted' and who would
get to decide.  Your version is much simpler, in that, well, only you get to
deicide.

I have many people emailing me, also saying it's a cool/nice/neat/great idea
etc and that's great.  It's nice to have some encouragment like that.  There
will be many things on the site once I learn more and get more going... but
don't forget, it's still heavily under construction.

Well... I have stated in the notes that it maybe a 50 in general or by
rank... this doesn't have to be chosen by me.  But I was thinking of finding
a voting system to attatch to it, one that is visable for all to see... any
suggestions?

Hope this helps,

sure :) thanks...
