Err .. the 8440 is not the Space Shuttle ... it's the Formula Flash / Octan Indy
Racer.
The part number embossed on it is ... 6572.
The part (hub) that it attaches to it is ... The Steering Gear Type III on

(3rd column, next to last element) ... there's no number embossed that I can see
...

| i am looking for imformation on this set. does it come with 2 black technic parts that look kinda like this from above? ---\ >0 ---/ they have a towball on one end and things that are like 3l liftarms on the other end. what part does the towball on (...) (25 years ago, 31-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)
