Landing skid ideas

My current project in the works is rebuilding my UH-1 Huey. I built this
model a long time ago, but never really finished it. Well, I went out
yesterday and saw Black Hawk Down, (i LOVED that movie) and the preview for
We Were Soldiers. This thoroughly inspired me, so now I'm working on my Huey
again. However, I can't find a way of doing landing skids that LOOK like
landing skids! Any ideas or suggestions?
