this little (well, semi-little) model has been sitting on my desk for
months. I meant to post pictures earlier, but my computer went to hades in a
leaky bucket. anyway, this is an AAGT, inspired somewhat by the APC in the
movie "Aliens" (along with some military advice from my Roommate on the
subject of how an APC should look, proportion-wise.) the driver sits behind
the thin strip of windows, while the gunner for the autocannon sits behind
his weapon, and is fed targetting information by the sensor specialist
seated in the driver's side alcove. in areas where sensors are ineffective
(eg: planets/regions with magnetic/electrical storms, etc.), the sensor
specialist moves up to the large window next to the autocannon, and uses an
optical targetting mechanism to discern possible enemies. in the Gunner's
side alcove is a Sensor processor tower (the grey octagonal column. the
yellow cannisters next to the processor tower contain fuel. the only means
of entry into the vehicle are through the main rear hatch, and down the
barrels of the autocannon, as they feed into an internal ammunition bay,
which can be reloaded from inside the vehicle. the armor plating is
heavy-duty fused Legonium plate construction. the windows are of a similar
armor grade. unfortunately, the vehicle has only the autocannon and it's
speed and weight as weapons (in urban areas, the AAGT can reach speeds of up
to 143 km/h).

while a poor candidate for frontline military operations, the AAGT is
ideally suited to covert operations and crowd control operations in times of
political upheaval. in covert operations, the AAGT's exhaust system is
routed through a heat-exchanger (and out through the hatch which is visible
directly in front of the exhaust port), cooling it to near or below ambient
air temperature. running in this mode limits the vehicles tops speed, to
prevent dangerous heat build up. the AAGT's heat signature in covert
operations is nearly zero. in urban crowd control, the autocannon is fitted
with low-velocity, semi-guided "crowd control agent" chemical projectiles.
on impact these explode and release a variety of chemicals, depending on
mission profile (anything from odorous "stink-bullets", up to lethal nerve
gases and airborne virii). it is truly a terrifying sight to see an AAGT
appearing through a cloud of yellowish IK-97n paralysis agent, with the
whine of the autocannon and it's shells filling your ears.

[OOC]so, lmkwyt on this one, too, K? even if it's just to say "no sir, I
don't like it."[/OOC]

(...) blocky. The slope work on the front breaks it up nicely, and you have some cool details both inside and out. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.build)

Hey, well done! This is really quite nifty. I love the gun, mounted beside the cockpit, really clever idea. It also has a really cool shape to it, very nice, and the interior is really well detailed too. You have a cool hatch going as well, nice (...) (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.build)
