I've always wanted to try & model a steam engine but those pnuematic switches
are so darn tight!! So there's another suggestion on my Lego wish list - a
sliding pnuematic valve. Maybe one day.....

The pneumatic switches may seem tight, but the linkages have no trouble
moving them thanks to the considerable power of the pistons.  The tricky
part is making sure the 2 sides are exactly 1/4 out of phase with each other
and trip when the pistons are at the correct angle.
