You mean Arthur Jermyn? That is indeed a fine piece of period racism!
And one of too many to come out of Lovecraft's typewriter. Lovecraft was,
sadly, a man of his time, and his reclusive New England lifestyle didn't
really afford him a broad view of human diversity. The only encouraging
thing I've read about his racism is that in later years he seems to have
indicated regret about the harshness of some of his racial views.
So let me get this straight--you're calling Franklin's model racist? 8^)
