  Re: SpiderWalker rides again!

(...) Maybe I watch just a bit too much X-Files. :) I like the government- coverup episodes a lot, but I also like anything with gooey crawly creatures and stuff. I also watch too many PBS shows about creatures of the deep who can put their stomachs (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build)

  Ninja web pages updated

I have just uploaded several new pages and tons of images showing the current state of my superfortress in the Ninja theme. Perhaps these images will explain why I dubbed it "superfortress". I also uploaded two pictures of my storage system and (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  RE: Classic scale building?

(...) Ummmm, If you make your buildings solid, the factor is 8! Think about is starting with a 1x1 brick. If you double each dimension, you have a 2x2x2 volume, which is 8 1x1s. Even a 1 brick/floor empire state building is going to be awfully tall! (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: set instructions wanted

(...) Someone did. Did you try at the scansite? (URL) a search through the pause DB, here on lugnet would have given you the link. (URL) take the blacktron link. Welcome to lugnet, you must be new here.. most of the oldtimers know all this already. (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

Gary Istok wrote in message <36E955E1.75B33582@u...ch.edu>... (...) I've built an Empire State Building on a scale of 1 brick = 1 floor. My original plans were for 2 bricks = 1 floor, but I soon realized the folly of my ways when I came to the (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Classic scale building?

(...) I found the name! It's the New Pudential Building in downtown Chicago. When I went to Chicago a few years ago, I liked the design of the building because it was somewhat original. A month or so later, I was finally figuring out how LDraw (...) (26 years ago, 14-Mar-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

Re: More pictures of the V8

(...) Hi Bob! That test stand includes a 9v motor to "run" the engine and the fiber optics. I am going to see if I can get a good quicktime movie of it and add it to the page . I will let you know of the progress: ) Thanks for your interest! John (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Classic scale building?

I'd like to post the skyscraper I designed to lugnet.cad.dat: (URL) MPD file is approx. 100 Kb. That's not too big to post, is it? The skyscraper that (loosely) inspired the model is in downtown Chicago near Grant Park (I think) Does anyone know the (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.build, lugnet.cad)

On Fri, 12 Mar 1999 17:58:58 GMT, Gary Istok uttered the following profundities... (...) Some building facades have been "as close to the photo as possible" scale. So depending on the building, some have been small, perhaps to the scale you (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Classic scale building?

(...) Groovy, man. Peace and Love. No, I don't think you're pretentious at all. Or alone. (I am not a town/building person myself, so my opinion may not count for much) I think you build primarily for the esthetic value of the building - which is (...) (26 years ago, 13-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Classic scale building?

(...) I've "built" (virtually only) a 20 story building at the scale. (Easily expandable to greater height.) You can see some renderings at: (URL) Lambrecht / o o \ BramL@juno.com ---...---oooo-----(_...o---...--- WWW: (URL) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Classic scale building?

(...) I've built some stuff on the 2 bricks=1 story scale. Not much, just some post-modern office buildings. The problem many of us face is that we only have parts to support building at the 5- or 6-bricks per story scale. Steve (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

  Classic scale building?

I was just wondering.... I know that most of you folks build on the minifig scale (5 brick high doors) using all those "wonderful" (sarcastic) minifigs. Is there anyone else who builds primarily on the classic scale (3 brick high doors - sort of the (...) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

John, That engine looks better all the time. Congradulations on your excellent model. The additional pictures sure enhance the details that you have put into this model. I really like the test stand, including the rollers to load the engine. Soo (...) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: 1x1 round plates in station

(...) Ouch, yes. That's embarassing. Teaches me to speak from memory. You are indeed correct (I'm going from brochure photos as well, but the 1981 German Trains brochure shows it very well). The prism held the round plates, rather than the holes in (...) (26 years ago, 12-Mar-99, to lugnet.build)
