  Re: 10 Starship Designs

(...) A) I really like Legos. B) I've never fooled around with a modeling program before LDraw/LEdit and I really like it. I have no idea what else is out there, but one day I'm sure I'll get bored again and have to something else to pass my free (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

Re: Images of Civilian Space Freighter

(...) Excellent freighter. In the closeup picture of the side door of the ship: (URL) It looks like the door opens, but I can't figure out how. Is it hinged? Sliding? Revolving? In this alternate shot: (URL) looks like the door is recessed half a (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Sydney Opera House

Well, there is a really large model of it in Legoland, California. It's shown in "The Ultimate Lego Book" (from DK Books last year.) They give some (scant) background on the process, noting it was done with computer guidance. -Erik (NY, NY) (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) I have to say that I'm very impressed. I loved the lighting you did with the pictures through the helicopter. Did you have to do anything special so that the open areas inside the helicopter didn't destroy the structural integrity of the (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

RE: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) An easy way around this...use one of the elastic bands from a lego set...It must be lego, as it's part of the set and required for the model. [and I doubt lego would include something that wasn't at least authorized by the company :) ] Hope (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

(...) Ah yes --- I like the idea of using 7 technic axels with a rubber band. While a solution -- I falter back and forth with the idea of using "other than lego" solutions to model design problems. it's a moral issue perhaps. =) - Marc (24 years ago, 13-Jul-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general)

Re: Building the A10 Thunderbolt "Warthog"

I'd build an A-10 out of light grey and use dark grey and black for the details. For a canopy I figure there is no perfect way to do one so I'd us the naboo fighter canopy and then make the back part of it slope into the fuselage, kinda like they (...)
