US Army Corps. of Engineers castle

I just posted pics of the new castle model I finished last night. This one is a minifig scale 3D version of the US Army Corps of Engineers castle logo. This castle took just a matter of weeks to build, unlike the other one which is two years and (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Aves

(...) It works well on: X-wing Cockpit, Insectoid wings, anything that isn't a slope. Slopes produce...interesting effects. They become smooth like any other piece. I picked up my Brasso at K-mark, but I suppose Walmart has it too. (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: A tree

(...) Nah... I'll let you keep guessing, but I'll say this much - Scar's in on it. (isn't she in on everything? ;-) XFUT back to .org.cw -Shiri (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw, lugnet.build)

  Re: Aves

(...) Works great on Insectoid wings, so I imagine Stingray windows would be OK. (...) Household chemicals is where I found it, I think. J (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: Aves

(...) to (...) I agree about some printing, but stickers can be worse. Do you know if it will work on clear sections, such as the big Stingray windows? Brasso. Wal- Mart? Paints and such section? Or hardware store? Always learning something new, (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

Re: Does anyone use "distressed" lego?

(...) Well, I have plans one of these days to make a LEGO garbage dump... I've been saving my damaged bricks for use as thematically-matched refuse. Smaller stuff makes for better trash. Unfortunately, in my experience the larger parts are the ones (...) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build)

  Mosaic Maker

This is sort of a cross between an online toy and a computer-aided-design tool: (URL) serious work, check out Eric Harshbarger's "Pixelego" application: (URL) & Suz (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.build, lugnet.fun.crafts, lugnet.announce) !

  Re: A tree

(...) Does that relate to the technic pin at the bottom, which would appear to make the tree fall over? Looks like that little evergreen marks the "target". :-) (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Aves

(...) Aves must be Mandalorian, or something...;-) -Chris (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: Aves

(...) Wow! The Payback is awesome! I love the way the side turrets rise up and rotate into attack position. The detail work on Aves is great. I like the little symbol on his right arm, looks a little like Boba Fett's symbol. Great work! Wilson (24 years ago, 17-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: A tree

(...) Actually, I think the one that TLC sells in bulk is the smaller of the two most common ones. Right next to the tree is says "Small Spruce Tree" and also, the small tree has six "layers" of branches, whereas the larger tree has nine "layers". (...)   Re: A tree

(...) Thanks! It took me a good two-three hours, because it kept falling apart until I grounded it with some technic axles and pins. (...) Yep! It's that grey half-peg-half-axle piece that holds the 2x2 rounds up. (...) No, the bigger of the two is (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle.org.cw)

  Re: Aves

I used Brasso to take off the UFO junk. I don't consider it ruining the piece, I consider it saving the piece from TLG's ruining it by making it useable only within the UFO Theme. I really hate theme-specific printing on stuff, with the possible (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.space)

  Re: A tree

Hi Shiri, Nice Tree... I find it hard to make something look that organic using Lego. Nice job. I was sitting here scratching my head wondering how you made that 2x2 round limb sit horizontally from the main trunk, when I realized that those are (...) (FUT .build) (URL) case you couldn't figure it out... it's a tree. -Shiri P.S. take the hint, CW... this tree will be of significance. <grin> (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw, lugnet.build)

  Shopping Mall

Here's some pictures of a shopping mall that my brother and I built about four years ago. It's quite large, measuring roughly 2 and 1/2 feet high, 3 feet deep, and 4 feet long. We entered it in the Arts and Crafts division of our county fair, where (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.build)
