  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) I've always used the term "minfig scale" to differentiate from "Miniland scale" to help explain that the vehicles, structures, and figures in Miniland at LEGOLANDs are not the same as the vehicles, structures, and figures in LEGO sets. -Ted (16 years ago, 25-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) Tim, You are absolutely correct in describing the minifigure as an unrealistic model of a person. If minfigures were real people they would resemble some of the unhealthiest humans with big head and extremely overweight bodies. I think the (...) (16 years ago, 25-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Minifig scale?

(...) Indeed. I think the use of the term 'minifig scale' is just a turn of phrase. (...) A striking silhouette indeed, though I wonder if your silhouette is representative of humanity. Hmmm... perhaps there are members of the community who are more (...) (16 years ago, 25-Jul-08, to lugnet.build, FTX)

  Minifig scale?

Hi all, Of late I've noticed a resurgence in the use of 'minifig scale' as a term. Being a mathematically inclined pedant I tend to take issue with this term as minifigs are so deformed it strikes me as impossible to define a single 'scale' to them. (...)   Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa uses a pointillist style that I first saw in Roy Cook’s Aayla Secura Pointillist Mosaic winner of best mosaic at Brickfest 2006. My method differs slightly from Roy’s. Roy attached his 1x1 round plates to Technic bricks. I attached my (...) (16 years ago, 24-Jul-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build, lugnet.build.mosaic, FTX)

  Re: Chinese Lion Dance

(...) Wow this thing is great. It takes me back to the Reading Rainbow episode where Levar Burton was in Chinatown. On a side note, the at-the-time brother-in-law to be of Dan Rubin is actually a practioner of the Lion dancing. I begged him to have (...) (16 years ago, 23-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

Re: BugLab - a mobile laboratory

(...) Hello Duane, thanks for your reply. You're right in the end it came out quite complex. But it simply evolved that way. Cheers (URL) Marco> (16 years ago, 23-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Ghost

(...) Bob, It was constructed with RTV Silicon Molds. Took a while to design the molds to keep all the interior spaces and only have 2 part molds for each part, but that was my goal. I really undertook the project to help teach myself a bit more (...) (16 years ago, 22-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: Ghost

(...) This is really cool! The trans fig can also be used for Tron figs, if underlit...or if they were compatible with LEGO minifig parts, there could be a Star Trek transporter effect done with a blinky light. Joe (16 years ago, 22-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

  Re: Ghost

(...) From what I took from this post: (URL), MOCs should not be placed in the "lugnet.announce" group, but just in the "lugnet.announce.moc" group like you did. I'm afraid that I'm not seeing any resemblance to Obi-wan, but that may just be because (...) (16 years ago, 21-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.minifigs, FTX)

Re: BugLab - a mobile laboratory

Hello Nathan, (...) thanks for your feedback. I'm always happy if others like my work too. As you sure know building can be hard. Especially as things don't work as they were thought to do. Bless you (URL) Marco> (16 years ago, 20-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

This is just intrinsically cool. Great work. I love the concept, approach, and execution. The proportions are also really nice. Thanks for sharing and God Bless, Nathan (16 years ago, 19-Jul-08, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
