  The Beetle and the Lion

I’ve built two more armored vehicles, the Beetle armored recovery vehicle and the Lion self-propelled artillery gun: The CBU Beetle is an Armored Combat Engineer Vehicle. It is used to repair damaged armored vehicles in the field or, if need by, tow (...) (17 years ago, 19-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.technic, lugnet.announce.moc)

  Stonehenge and Chichen Itza

These were built for the upcoming March 2008 "Around the World in 80 Days" themed TexLUG display. I think I did a pretty decent job, considering I'm working with inventory scraps and leftovers. Stonehenge (2 URLs) Flickr> (URL) Brickshelf> I was (...) (17 years ago, 19-Feb-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.org.us.texlug, FTX) !

  Re: Roof question

(...) I have tried 2 workarounds for the lack of such a piece: 1. Fill in the valley where such piece would go with one 1x3 slope plus 1x1 plates and tiles to approximate. (I like Tim's mention of the new 1x1 slopes here). Result: not too great. 2. (...) (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: AMCP and Mecha at BrickFair

Hi Magnus, that sounds like a wonderful plan. I think the AMCP is a fun project and I hope this year you have great display. Kudos to the builders, and the Mechahub for helping to bring this all about. Glad to see the folks who build town help out (...) (17 years ago, 17-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  AMCP and Mecha at BrickFair

Hi all Mecha builders, I have been asked to organize a Apocalyptic Mecha City Project (AMCP) display for BrickFair in Northern Virginia this summer. As a military builder and having participated in the hugely succesful AMCP at BrickWorld last year, (...)   Indiana Jones Lego Store Display

Since it's very unlikely that the tank would be done for the Indiana Jones sets, I tried to do my version of it based from pics that I found in the book From Star Wars To Indiana Jones. Now it's on display in the LEGO store at Bridgewater Mall in (...) (17 years ago, 16-Feb-08, to lugnet.adventurers, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX) !

  Re: Roof question

(...) And my apologies for responding to myself but... aren't you somewhat of an expert of multi-layered, multi-hinged shapes? You could probably do something really neat by hiding a multi-angled shell under plates stuck on studs up (or even with (...) (17 years ago, 16-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: Roof question

(...) Angling some wing plates is the only solution I'm aware of and it's not that great IMO. Basically it's a nasty problem. You may be able to try something tricky with 1x1 slopes too. Tim (17 years ago, 16-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: Roof question

(...) Duane, a 3x3 (double concave) 33 degree "valley" slope has not yet been produced by LEGO. Neither has a 1x2 (triple) 33 degree half pyramid roof peak, nor the parts needed for an "L" or "T" roof ridge. So that makes it difficult to produce a (...)   Roof question

I put this in lugnet.town, but then found this group as well, so... I’m working on my first house-type model and have a roof question for you experienced town-builders. Unfortunately, I cannot use the roof slopes for this project, because the roof (...) (17 years ago, 15-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: Dome of the Rock

(...) Very, very nice work, Arthur. That curved wall under the dome is the highlight, certainly, but the rest in magnificent as well. Spotlighted! Cheers Richie Dulin (17 years ago, 14-Feb-08, to lugnet.build.microscale)

My first MOC of which I am rather pleased-not really sculpture

I was contracted by Wichita State Shocker Mindstorms event to creat some trophies for their event. They wanted me to incorporate some of my WoodStitches (TM) which are LEGO bricks covered with wood veneer. In the 21 unique trophies used over 20 (...) (17 years ago, 13-Feb-08, to lugnet.build)

  Dome of the Rock

I swear I didn’t build this in 4 days. I had started a number of projects over the summer but they all took a back seat when I was commissioned to build a model of a local church. The church was completed in early January and I’m finally getting (...) (17 years ago, 13-Feb-08, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.build.arch) !

  Ley Ward Vignette series

Because of some serious time restrictions I decided to get small (as Steve Martin once said) for a while. I think it's a mixed bag of vigs, but it was fun building some tiny tributes to our own Ley Ward (aka Professor Whateverly), and definetly an (...)   More military MOCs
