  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Tim, (...) Thanks for the kind words. The Commander and the Protector are pretty much the same with minor differences on the outside, and then obviously different interiors. Any ideas of how to spiff up a command vehicle like this? I don't want to (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

Whenever I see "Rhino" in connection with armoured vehicles I think of one of these from (URL) Warhammer 40,000>: Rhino: (URL) or one of it's variants such as: Predator (Rhino variant): (URL) Razorback (Rhino variant): (URL) Whirlwind (Rhino (...)   Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

(...) --snip-- (...) Hi Magnus, Great work as usual. I love the way you've used the eye piece in all of them to give them that evil glare. The only one I'm not so keen on is the Commander. I can't help but feel it's lacking a little detail compared (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

Hi Didier, thanks for this great resource for advanced use of LEGO elements! You've collected much more SNOT and Co. stuff then I did when I did my website years ago. And yes, there are allways new elements and there are so many hobbiest finding (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Rhino Armored Vehicles

Hi all, Here is another group of armored vehicles, all based around the same chassis/hull design. They feature suspension, an openable engine compartment, a handy rear door, and a pair of vicious-looking eyes that I've been meaning to use for a while (...)   Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

(...) Not good enough. Wishing is no excuse for not promoting a site you claim to believe in. I did a quick search to get some context on the history of this wiki, and there are many roffles to be had, but (URL) this thread> basically tells you all (...)   Re: 6-foot-tall freestanding Chase logo

(...) Thanks, Will! The sculpture has two forms of internal support.... a metal armature, and LEGO-beams. Metal for rigidity, LEGO for accuracy. The metal armature is mostly for keeping the model upright, and wasn't welded as precisely as LEGO (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  Re: 6-foot-tall freestanding Chase logo

(...) Sean, you can count my jaw with the others, down there on the floor. Truly a massive undertaking, and very well executed. Bravo! I have had my share of gluing sculpture, and I had slight misaligmnent after only only 6 inches of gluing. Yours (...) (18 years ago, 13-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture, FTX)

  6-foot-tall freestanding Chase logo

Hi again, everybody: I'm happy to announce I've just completed my largest sculpture ever. It's, unfortunately, a very plain (boxy) shape, but it was a fun (and blistering) challenge to build nonetheless. (URL) JPMorgan Chase asked me to build this (...)   Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

I also prefer offline documents but I would rather download a small single-technique .pdf file than a large book of techniques when I just want to to try one particular thing.   Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

Very nice! The texturing is great and the overall look is very well done. The spires strike me as a little thin but I can't think what you would do about it... Thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

(...) Didier, I completely agree with this statement. I think online resources are awesome, but I, at least, don't build in front of my computer. Having an off-line document like this that pulls everything together will easily find it's way to my (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

--snip-- (...) 1) What about using a 4x4 SNOT core with tiled surfaces around it. A (URL) Lambrecht-Lowell> cylinder style design.   Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

(...) I do't think it's too short. I think it's too low. But it's a fantastic model. My favourite bit is the texturing with technic bricks with axle holes and axles. The reflection is a great idea too. Tim (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

(...) Thanks. Getting good constructive feedback is the only way to improve your work. I'm already on your suggestion and am adding an extra layer of white logs to raise the main turret higher. Other items that bothered me include 1. The outer (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)
