  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

Very nice! The texturing is great and the overall look is very well done. The spires strike me as a little thin but I can't think what you would do about it... Thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan (URL) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

(...) Didier, I completely agree with this statement. I think online resources are awesome, but I, at least, don't build in front of my computer. Having an off-line document like this that pulls everything together will easily find it's way to my (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

--snip-- (...) 1) What about using a 4x4 SNOT core with tiled surfaces around it. A (URL) Lambrecht-Lowell> cylinder style design. You could also use this to taper the spires if you wanted. 2) Again you might find that a modified L-L sphere might (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

(...) I do't think it's too short. I think it's too low. But it's a fantastic model. My favourite bit is the texturing with technic bricks with axle holes and axles. The reflection is a great idea too. Tim (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

(...) Thanks. Getting good constructive feedback is the only way to improve your work. I'm already on your suggestion and am adding an extra layer of white logs to raise the main turret higher. Other items that bothered me include 1. The outer (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

(...) Didier - congratulations on putting this together. It's a very useful resource. My apologies to the Brick-Wiki-Fiddlers, but I much prefer a well-written document like this to inter-linked pages. BrickWiki may be useful as a reference, but a (...) Alas! A tragedy of redundancy. I guess I have to bookmark it now, even though I can't be bothered to contribute. Perhaps the wiki might benefit from some marketing? I don't see any links on Lugnet, for example... (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: Micro Scale Taj Mahal

Good job on your model. However there is one thing that bugs me. The main dome/spire is way too small/short See picture: (URL) If you can just adjust it, then it will be a great model. (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: The Unofficial LEGO Advanced Building Techniques Guide

Hey Didier, This is a pretty good start towards a technique compendium, but I can think of a few things you missed. There's element stressing (as (URL) discussed> at Brickfest '06), and I think it would benefit from a section on articulation. After (...) (18 years ago, 12-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)
