Re: The First Joe Vig Contest - The Winners!!!

(...) My congratulations to the winners, and to the organizers. This has been the most fun competition I haven't entered, ever! Finally a competition where the models are small enough that I can copy them, but still interesting enough that I want to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

Re: Why not smaller & more affordable for all?

(...) I work for a publisher here in NYC and one of the requirments from our Editor in Chief is 'keeping the sku count low' (number of different books we produce, not quantities of each title that we print). I'm not 100% sure this is the reasoning (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

. (...) How much does it cost to have some more numbers?! Tim (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) OK, so 2 + 2 will give us 5... We have access to the .lxf files, we have access to the means of ordering the sets individually. Basically, what we'll need to do is rip out the individual models we would like and then order them as a single (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Re: Why not smaller & more affordable for all?

(...) I'm 80% sure (guesswise) that the reason is "we don't have enough SKUs"... This seems to me a sign of internal breakage, LEGO needs to fix their systems so they can have more SKUs without it costing them a lot more.   Re: 2001

(...) I like it a lot! You just got a preview of an idea that's been cooking up in my brain, thanks to Nathan for doing it unknowingly :-) Terry (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Why not smaller & more affordable for all?

(...) I have to agree. While I'm delighted with the idea of the lego factory sets and keen on getting the models that are available, I'm just not liking the prices. I don't make a habit of buying $40, $70, & $130 sets. $15-20 sets are more my speed. (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

Re: Why not smaller & more affordable for all? was Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Yes. I agree, and thats not including the fact that they are even more expensive in the UK. The price per piece might not be high but the sets are just too big. If each winner was an indiviudual set I might end up buying most of them over a (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

  Re: 2001

Hey Nate, This is great! One of the best vigs I've seen in a while. I love how you played with scales to give a forced perspective. Also, as with Jason, that application of R2 legs is inspired. Bruce (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 2001

(...) Very well done. Play well, Jacob (who should give vignettes a try soon) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.space)

  Re: 2001

(...) Awesome! You've captured the scene very well. I love the modifications you've made to the pod arms. I just tried it on one of mine. Very nice. I can finally get rid of the unsightly dark gray wrenches I was using! I also love the use of the R2 (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.space, FTX)
