  Re: Waltzing Matilda Vignette

(...) Very cool idea for a vignette and well carried out. It expresses the feeling and atmosphere of the song really well, the beginning is peaceful and this is really well reflected in your vignette. I would love to see a series of vignettes for (...)   Waltzing Matilda Vignette

Hi all, Here is my first attempt at a vignette. It is a recreation of the first two lines of the famous Australian (URL) Waltzing Matilda by Banjo Patterson. For those who don't know: a swagman is a sort of rural itinerant and a billabong is a (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.loc.au, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Realistically, what kid doesn't have internet access but his grandma does? I agree that not having printed instructions in a 2000-piece set is lame, but I don't think the concern above is too likely. Best, Joe (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  The Brick Testament: Jephthah!

(URL) The Brick Testament> website has been updated today with four new stories from the Biblical book of (URL) Judges>, relating the tale of Israel's eighth judge, Jephthah: (2 URLs) Refuses to Save Israel> (2 URLs) of the Ammonites> (2 URLs) Kills (...)   Re: LUGNet shut off

(...) Well I would like to lend my voice to this. I find lugnet a great resource, and I am happy to promote, or link to it from orionrobots.co.uk. I use lugnet pretty much every day, or at least read the feeds to my mailbox from it. I support you (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

The First Joe Vig Contest has ended!!

(...) The First Joe Vig contest has officially closed, and the Curators of .vignette would like to thank everyone who entered. We have seen some amazing entries, and are especially glad that we will award the prizes!! Judging will commence shortly, (...)   Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Even if the person who buys them has internet access doesn't mean you do. It would be a bit crap if as a kid your online grandma ordered it for you and then you had no instructions! Tim (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Yup! As pointed out on LEGOFan, the sets form a size progression so there can be different price points, the third one is the biggest. (...) I agree. I would rather see names. Perhaps LEGO was thinking some were underage and wanted to keep (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) In my freelance period for LEGO I was able to see the winning models and the preliminary packagings. Of what I've seen the real names will also be included on the packaging, but on the backside. In the contract that all participants have (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Joe Runner

(...) Thank you very much Brian. It was a fun little MOC, and I must say, I am pretty fond of anvils myself. (Other hobbies of mine include perennial gardening and occupational folklore. So naturally the two mix and my garden is adorned with a few (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) WooHoo!... but...what if someone gets these & doesn't have internet access (the boxes say the instructions will only be online)? Or will the sets only be an online Shop@home exclusive? These sets are too good to be limited to catalog or online (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Indeed! Congrats to all the winners! If you look closely, all the winners and the name of their entries are identified in orange titles on the boxes near their model. I hope that is also done on the final sets, but I would prefer their real (...) (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Joe Runner

I gotta agree with the good Rev. here ... there's something inherently funny about a falling anvil and Janey that is a beautiful little anvil. I liked this vig a lot. Brian Darrow "The Rev.   Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) Nod. (...) I think it's more than 3... each set seems to be an agglomeration of several of teh winning entries, for example one set has both the monorail city slice AND the Statue of Liberty model... I think that's pretty cool! (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Joe Runner

(...) Thank you. (...) You have a very good point there, not really sure why I went with the string. Maybe I should have just mounted it from the side, so when viewing it from the front you can't see how it's attached. Janey "Red Brick" (19 years ago, 16-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Window Shopping

(...) You could swap out any male figure for Joe, and it would still be true. :) Is there an open hole there he's about to step into? From the caption I would assume so, but I cant tell if it's a hole or a black 1x2 plate. --Ry (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

Re: Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple

(...) Love it Ryan. Joe picking up the severed limb is a classic LOL moment. Brian aka CedarSith (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) I agree! What Dave says. I need to get me some of those sets 'cos they're cool plus it looks like they're chocked full of good parts too. That means at least two of each, one set to build and one or more sets to "use". JB (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale)

  Re: LEGO Factory sets

(...) In a word awesome!!! Although I consider most sets as bulk packs now a days, these I may have to build. Unlike most sets, these have interesting building techniques, great parts and subjects that caught my imagination. I look forward to (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jul-05, to lugnet.build.microscale, FTX)

Joe Vig Contest Entry - Jedi Temple

Joe Vig wonders -and soon discovers- who killed all the Jedi. (URL) My first ever vignette (not counting a trophy I made for last Brickfest.)
