Re: new moc: italian villa with aquarium pool

(...) thank you for the compliment! (...) this floor was a result of norbert telling me i shouldn't keep the studded tan floor originally in place. i played with a variety of possibilities and i'm very pleased with the result but only wish i had (...) It's always hard doing both big and small stuff. I think you did it well. Good job. Mark (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: The two Drakes

These things are kind of goofy looking at the offset, but I really like the feel. In a similar way I didn't like the way of the ED-209 at first, these got a very viceral feel for me. They look like something straight out of a comic book or video (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: new moc: italian villa with aquarium pool

(...) Since, oddly enough, that was exactly the effect I was aiming at ("colourful and slightly cartoony" would be another :) ), I thank you very much. Oh, and Deborah? Thanks for the commission! Norbert Black (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

Re: new moc: italian villa with aquarium pool

Another masterpeice, as to be expected! Details I like from a first glance: The (URL) floor>, simple but effective. The (URL) pantile roof> I think this works well, possibly a bit overscale but the 'Lego eye' assimilates it OK. BTW have you seen (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: Iron Clads

(...) Actually some wood was used: " The ship would be 172 feet long with a 41 foot 6 inch beam. Two 11 inch guns would be housed in a revolving turret.   Paladin MkII

Hey, please don't blame me for the mass posting! I had problems getting my pics off the camera. No I managed this. And I want to share them.   Re: Creating custom fabric elements for Lego minifigures

Hi Tim (...) You're welcome. (...) Oooo - that would work, wouldn't it... Especially if you used sheer material. Hmmmm. This makes me think thoughts of building a coach to go with my Edwardian-era London and Southwestern Railway station, Stevermer (...) another hillside moc in the italian countryside, this villa represents building through the ages. the varied roof lines *might* bring to mind various outbuildings that were brought together under one roof, so to speak. this roof design was inspired (...) So simple, yet so funny! And well built, too! ;-) I'm still laughing... A question: Where did those torsos come from? Spotlighted. :-D -- Nathan Wells (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Alpha

Hey Marco, Very nice! I love how you used the 1x2 plate with rods (Classic Space guns to me!) to add detail to the knee joints. Just as impressive is that you managed to make a scout walker that doesn't look like a SW Scout Walker. Well done, and (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: The Brick Testament: Judge Deborah

(...) I say this because its the same reason I attempted a more artistic direction with lego rather than another medium. The shapes, textures, and colors invoke immediate feelings in an observer.
