  Re: Steambots

(...) Sometimes I think you build stuff just so you'll have an excuse to create those crazy captions and commentaries. Well played. Do they ever shoot blasts of steam as an attack? (20 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Steambots

You don't know my mother. Thanks for explaining steam as a power source. My favorite steambot is the short legged one. And I like steamrice. JP. (20 years ago, 19-Oct-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Steambots

(URL) Steambots aren't powered with fancy-dancy unobtainium power-fusion or uber-posh magic crystals. No. Steambots are powered by STEAM, yeah, thats right, steam as in evaporated water for all you science geeks out there. And when they run out of (...)   Re: LEGO Millyard model to cover 2,000 square feet, Sponsored by NELUG

(...) Yep-- and one of the biggest problems was the fact that the paper, although made by Lego, didn't QUITE line up with the studs at the lengths we were dealing with, because supposedly it gets stretched in the printing process. Made for quite a (...) (20 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.ancient, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: ToPleSs : the Art of building between the studs

(...) Matt Chiles used this technique heavily in his roller coaster, and referred to it as "pony-eared" (the 2x2 plate is pony-eared into the 2x4 plate). This comes from the old castle sets, before there was a horse element. The ears of the horses (...) (20 years ago, 18-Oct-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.schleim, lugnet.trains, FTX)

Hi all, As someone who has never participated in a large group build I'm very curious as to how this works.. Could you answer a few questions? I see the buildings are arranged on large gridded paper, and each team has several reference photographs. (...) Here are some more pictures of the Phase I building session that took place this past weekend. These pictures represent progress up until 1pm on Sunday as I had to leave and missed the rest of the Sunday build session. When I left 2 structures were (...)   Community Church

I am a slow builder. This is the first model I have made since my "Great Wave" mosaic that I brought to Brickfest. It's a community church: (URL) Photos and commentary can be seen here: (URL) usual, a limited brick supply dictated some compromises. (...) I just wanted to say that I had an absolute blast on Saturday - one of the best outings I've had as a member of NELUG. Despite having to rebuild my one section repeatedly (thus creating "The Gash"[1]), we probably could have completed our building (...)   Re: Vignette - Admiral's Quarters

  Some new window ideas

2004/10/17 Inspired by the lattice window building of last week, I was intrigued by Joakim Olsson's sloped window idea ((URL) came up with the two following ideas, making the slopes inward instead of outward: (URL) first one is build as part of a (...) (20 years ago, 17-Oct-04, to lugnet.build)

  Re: The Wanderer: a Clankbot

Lenny, I actually like the Wanderer better with the weaponry, even though the pics weren't as good. Maybe it's because the shotgun and pistols show off the arm/hand posability a little better. The pictures aren't clear but these lattice windows... (URL) actually attached to the wall they're in. They just slide in some tracks. In fact, the top third of the window isn't attached to the bottom 2/3. Amy (20 years ago, 16-Oct-04, to lugnet.build.arch)
