Re: New Mecha MOC: Neko 2

Hey, sorry about the late reply. This baby is awesome! I'm really liking the head, it's so smooth and well shaped. The trans red highlights really add to it as well. The overall form factor on this get's a 10. Everything is so well sculpted and (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: My microfig stuff

(...) *jaw drops* Wow! I'm flattered. Do you have a copy of the presentation that I could see? I wish I'd been there. You know, I'd considered going to BricksWest, but living in New York makes it hard, so I really hadn't followed all the news about (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.microscale)

Re: LEGO Sculpture: A Birthday Cake

The cake was shipped to the client in Connecticut... the company was supposed to give the cake to the B'day woman today (Saturday). I think the cake is going to remain it the office on display. I know that I do not get it back. eric (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: USS Duluth - Hull design innovation!

(...) Consider me big time impressed. Great job of advancing "realism" in Lego design. (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: USS Duluth - Hull design innovation!

(...) Thats a nice looking ship. Perhaps some recall my First National Bank from almost 4 yrs ago: (URL) used a similar curve technique. There is an 18" ruler and 7" brass bank that was the reference in the first picture. Maybe you also remember my (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: USS Duluth - Hull design innovation!

(...) WOW! That is cool! I am suspecting that this technique won't work well for cargo ships, or other hulls that have a lot of bow curvature but for cruisers and destroyers which knife through the water it works really well. Bravo for discovering (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: USS Duluth - Hull design innovation!

(...) The hull is only 1x2s at the very ends. At the aft there is a really steep curve and at the bow there is actually a flare, although it's really subtle. The rest of the ship is made up mainly of 1 x 12's and 2 x 10's. You actually get a nicer (...) (22 years ago, 8-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Mecha MOC: Neko 2

Shris, I was disappointed that I couldn't make it out for BW03, but when I found out that you weren't going to show, I was really bummed. But I'll get to pick your considerable brain at a date in the future, no doubt. As to the click hinges.... yeah (...) (22 years ago, 7-Mar-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha MOC: Neko 2

(...) Well....weren't you? ;^) (...) Thanks man! (...) Well, if that's a criticism, I'll take it! I thought she stood okay-- the hips in particular ended up being stiffer than I'd expected; in fact, I think it's a preferable method of construction (...)
