  Here is some Photography help!

I have been listen to several mechers saying that they need to better their digital photography skills. Well, I had some free time today, so I found some good helpul info for them. This site here covers all the photography basics. Be sure to read (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.publish.photography)

(...) Oh, yeah... I remember reading once a long time ago that you'd designed a minifig scale World Trade Center. Did you ever make a CAD model of it or anything? I'd love to see it! Sean --- Sean M. Kenney The Brick Apple - New York City in Lego (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New WTC design prototype

(...) Actually, my math was only off a little, but I didn't include the black plates. Here's the whole thing, with tiles and plates: The facade is built in chunks that are 24 studs tall (sideways). A chunk uses twelve 2x2 tiles, three 2x8 plates and (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New WTC design prototype

(...) Yea, almost as crazy as me settling on a design that used 2500 light gray tile grilles - when Bricklink was only showing about 1500 total available for sale! (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)

Yes, but so far I've only got a single turban, and that's purple :) With turban's coming out this year in white, black and red, I'm likely to build the odd lancer... unfortunately, with the black and white turbans only in the scorpion palace (...)   Re: Which 1x4x3 is better for skyscrapers: clear or transparent?

I was leaning towards the clear ones since they're a "neutral" color. Do the clear ones make the skyscraper look goofy?   Re: Which 1x4x3 is better for skyscrapers: clear or transparent?

(...) I've used both in my buildings, but the blue ones are most visible in the one tower I built. I think the color helps with scale. In a real building, in the sunlight, you can't see inside very well. (URL) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

Which 1x4x3 is better for skyscrapers: clear or transparent?

I want to buy some 1x4x3 wall elements for building a skyscraper. What looks better: the clear ones (3507) or the tinted blue ones (3447)? (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build, lugnet.general, lugnet.trains)

  Re: New WTC design prototype

(...) Okay, I'm a bigger loon, so I thought it might be do-able, but unless you can get tiles a lot cheaper than I can, or I've done the calculation incorrectly, it'd be $2500 *per side*, and that's just the tiles. Not as bad as my minifig-scale (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build)

Re: MP-2 Visage II and the LRMTV

Geordan! Awww man! The armor! The frame! Great work. I must say the use of the minifig legs as joints is very 'ol skool'! That is a great idea. I am partial to studless designs and this takes the cake! How many showing studs, 8 maybe? Pure (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-03, to lugnet.build.mecha)
