  Moonbase standards flexibility

just an imho about moonbase standards flexibility since i've been seeing a lot of misinterpretation lately. the goal of a standard is to provide 100% flexibility for the builder EXCEPT where the module needs to be able to connect to the next module.   Abston Church

I noticed this evening from email I've received that my site was selected CSOTW. Yeah, I'm kinda slow :-) Thanks to everyone who requested it, and thanks to Todd for the kind review. I've since added a couple pictures of the Abston Church project, (...) (22 years ago, 20-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town, lugnet.org.us.michlug)

  An interesting building idea...

Hi all, I just posted pics of an interesting vehicle I am hoping to build. It is a special rail-mounted vehicle for picking up and moving the giant radio antennas of the Very Large Array (VLA) radio telescope in New Mexico. The pics are at (URL) (...)   Re: Ethnic minifigs

(...) Alan, The tie fighter pilot in set 7146 has a brown head, with no printing. That and a Sharpie might do the trick for you. HTH. Good luck. Henry Durand (22 years ago, 20-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Ethnic minifigs

Advice and ideas are needed. One of the ways that we are celebrating the move to new office space is by having me "lego-ize" our personnel (plus families). For most ethnic groups its possible to get away with using the stock minifig faces -- yellow (...) (22 years ago, 20-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

  Jungle Chopper Base

In the great the great southern jungle, beyond the desolate concrete spires of the City State... there are a series of helecopter bases. Around the clock, the Air Cav protects the Pantheon from seperatists, undead, fugatives, enemy troops, and (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New joint technology, and a new mecha

Well, Chris, after waiting forever with only those "sketchy" teasers to satisfy me, I must say that finally seeing this mecha it did not meet my expectations. No chris, it EXCEDED them! I can's believe it! That creation is just amazing. Now that I (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New joint technology, and a new mecha

(...) Wow! I am working on Super Battle Droid MS as well and is it is two shoulders and a head short of being finished! I completely agree with you, the Super Battle Droid set is nice, but with those hinges it could have been a lot better! You have (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Moonbase mecha recharge bay module

xp to .mecha Trevor, that's pretty cool! I like the color scheme and all the little details, like the overhead beam-structure-things and the little spacemen hard at work. The mech is killer too - love how you used that cockpit. -Chris (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New joint technology, and a new mecha

Chris, this is just stellar. I really dig the spiney lower torso and the hips. And your use of the Bionicle feet really works well with this mecha. I also agree with Mladen; I like how you keep features consistent with your mecha. Not only is it (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New joint technology, and a new mecha

Chris this is awesome!! the articulation is fantastic as always, such awesome poses you have there. you used the super battle droid parts so well. This mecha looks so awesome as well, (not saying your old ones don't) so smooth and round. I love the (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New joint technology, and a new mecha

Chris, this is one of your best mecha yet. The articulation, as always, is nothing short of stellar (well, IMHO anyway). Design wise, I really love the legs, spine, and shoulders. You even sneaked missiles into the hips; you're finally adding (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

First animation or my mech 'prototype'

I've finished my first animation, using the mech prototype (with a improved head) It's only 8 seconds but it took almost 1.5 hours to render. I've managed to squeeze it in a 1.4MB 400x300 Divx 5 file. It's not the best quality (compared to the 260MB (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.cad.ray)

New joint technology, and a new mecha

Hey, everyone! Here is my new Andromeda, my new mecha: (URL) project began early this summer, when I bought a Super Battle Droid. The joints were interesting, but the model didn't seem to utilize them well. I started toying around with combining (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Thanks for the kind comments! Sadly, the FireSkull doesn't look much like any of the Eva out there because I am still having trouble addapting the ridgit Lego pieces to simulate organic forms. I am tackling this problem from a different angle (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Thanks! There are lots of changes to the old version, but in the end, it is the same mecha (thats why I decided to post the nex pics together with the old). The legs went through the greatest amount of changes so I am really pleased that you (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Glad to see you're experimenting with joint technology more now. I like this model, although it's not immediately obvious how this one is different than the last model, with the exception of maybe the waist section, and, of course, the new (...)
