First animation or my mech 'prototype'

I've finished my first animation, using the mech prototype (with a improved head) It's only 8 seconds but it took almost 1.5 hours to render. I've managed to squeeze it in a 1.4MB 400x300 Divx 5 file. It's not the best quality (compared to the 260MB (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.cad.ray)

New joint technology, and a new mecha

Hey, everyone! Here is my new Andromeda, my new mecha: (URL) project began early this summer, when I bought a Super Battle Droid. The joints were interesting, but the model didn't seem to utilize them well. I started toying around with combining (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Thanks for the kind comments! Sadly, the FireSkull doesn't look much like any of the Eva out there because I am still having trouble addapting the ridgit Lego pieces to simulate organic forms. I am tackling this problem from a different angle (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Thanks! There are lots of changes to the old version, but in the end, it is the same mecha (thats why I decided to post the nex pics together with the old). The legs went through the greatest amount of changes so I am really pleased that you (...) (22 years ago, 19-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

(...) Glad to see you're experimenting with joint technology more now. I like this model, although it's not immediately obvious how this one is different than the last model, with the exception of maybe the waist section, and, of course, the new (...)   Laser Tower

Submitted for your approval... The Iron Reich is proud to introduce its premier strategic weapon, the Laser Tower. Pictured here in one of the many canals that criss-cross the City-State, the weapon is powered by hydro-electricity, and protected by (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.military) !

  Military Base

After building enough structures I finally combined them into one base area. Featured are all the buildings from my brickshelf folder. I still plan on putting the vehicles in and populating it at some point, but just assembling it and then rendering (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.military)

  Re: What's New on Brickshelf

(...) Thanks for the support- the base is on its way. I just spent all day putting it all together, hopefully it will be posted tomorrow depending on the rendering time. And considering the size of it (15.6 kb) that alone could take the whole day... (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.military)

Re: New Mecha and LDraw Files

(...) Heh, thanks Geordan! (...) Yeah, I just experimented with the slopes and wedges until I got a nice combo. ;-) (...) I proportioned each body part according to the anime mecha style. It turned out good, thankfully. (...) Hehe, ya know the last (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha and LDraw Files

Mladen, This mecha is SO awesome! The lower legs are perfect, the shapes there are so awesome. so perfectly anime. I agree with Eric, the feet are awesome as well. The shoulders, everything, it all complements eachother. this is the ultimate anime (...) (22 years ago, 18-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

Bobby, this is one of my favourite models from you (the other is your amazing, superbly sculpted, Deathscyther Hell). I don't really know how accurate it is to the real EVA units, but this mecha is worthy of praise nonetheless. The fact that you got (...) (22 years ago, 17-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Moonbase Project: Containment And Neutralizing facility

I thought I'd do a little more serious Module this time. No neon signs, Used car salesmen, or dishwasher droids. Just something simple. :) (URL) (22 years ago, 17-Aug-02, to lugnet.space, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.build) !

Evangelion Unit 14 Version 2.0 FireSkull

Neue-Oz Manufacturing is proud to present the second version of the NOM 03. Everything has been changed or modified with the exception of the head, shoulders and the legs from the knee up. (URL) still doesn't look much like an Evangelion unit, but (...) (22 years ago, 17-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha and LDraw Files

(...) Thanks Bryce! Halfway though contruction, I realized just how much I was making it look like Big Blue. That mecha of yours has always been my favourite, and I hope one day I'll be able to build on that scale. As for the realism is in my (...) (22 years ago, 16-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New Mecha and LDraw Files

Mladen, I really like this one. Love the legs, very Gundam. And I can see that you're back to one of your favorite color schemes! And you're right, that Bazooka rocks! Another great "real world" model from you. Later, Bryce (...) (22 years ago, 16-Aug-02, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: SNOT Fractional Offsets

(...) Quite possibly. It's the thicker one that works out right for the 1/10 stud offset ... <dr. evil> I don't know chronologies </dr. evil> -s (22 years ago, 16-Aug-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.pirates)

(...) Don't you have old and new reversed here? Frank (22 years ago, 16-Aug-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: SNOT Fractional Offsets

(...) I checked these out last night. The new version, with the thin center ring, results in a flush surface. That is, the center ring is 1/2 plate thick, so that a tile on either side ends up flush with the 1x1 plate. The old ones, however, have a (...)
