| (...) I built a prototype wing for my ornithopter using capes and 1x plates. It worked quite well but was very fragile, and I didn't have enough capes to do both wings. | I'm just learning this stuff, so don't quote me. The plastic is damaged by light at the more energetic end of the spectrum: ultraviolet. After time, it reflects less of the visible light at that end of the spectrum: white plastic starts to absorb (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)

| (...) I would guess that sun/UV damage is cumulative. Possibly the reason that adjacent pieces don't fade equally is that some of them have had more previous exposure than others. Another possibility, as you mention, is manufacturing variances. The (...) (23 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.build)
