Hi Everyone, I have uploaded photos from our meeting on Saturday, Nov 3rd. Main Directory: (URL) of note: (URL) undergoes the "draft" started by the Edmonton folks. (URL) Mecha by Todd Kubo (URL) scale Skull Mountain and Galleons by Todd Kubo, (...)   Photography Techniques...

He'y'all, Two parts to this post, feel free to respond to either or both... part I I'm having trouble with takin pictures, Some times they turn out too dark, sometimes they turn out kind of like they were under candle light, :-) (URL) ideas on (...)   Re: What do YOU do with face-less heads?

(...) The other use for those is in train bogies - TLC decided to use a chunk exactly the same size & shpae on the sides of their train motor - look here: (URL) (23 years ago, 5-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.arch)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) Yeah, but I just really wanted to you all those parts in model. Plus, who says that the "Police" in my universe are just like the present police? ;-) Anyways, I'm glad you like Brian. (...) Mladen Pejic, over and out! (URL) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) Actually I think it looks more like it belongs to the Fire Department than the police (not black and white). That could be a foam cannon. I don't think I've ever seen a firefighting mecha. "K" (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What do YOU do with face-less heads?

(...) I eat them… I take them like vitamins… They provide me with my daily ABS supplement! Yummy, --==Richard==-- (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: What do YOU do with face-less heads?

(...) I do like George's post showing these used as pillars, but you would need a number of them for that. I have only a few of these (a small handful from the pre-minifig era, and then two or three from circa 1980 where the smileys wiped off from (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) on (...) Yeah, I think they would be guided, since the mecha only carries two! ;-D I didn't want to place a large missile pod on the mecha, since missiles might cause "collateral damage" in an urban environment. Still, I think I should added (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) Thanks Rob! Actually, both of the rifles can move upwards and slightly sideways. The mini-gun can also move up and down, and side to side, slightly. For taking care of bigger, concealed threats, I did in fact add an SRM2 pod on the top. (...) (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

(...) that the fig sits in there, and the legs add alot of character. I have one small problem with it though. It looks like all of it's weapons are line of site. The police would probably like a grenade or missle launcher, so they can get to (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) WOW! That's awesome. Thanks for the scan, Mark, I greatly appreciate it! (...) Heh, thanks Mark! I'd really like to see what kind of multiped mecha you can come up! ;-) (...) Mladen Pejic, over and out! (URL) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) Thank you Stuart! (...) Actually, I was mostly inspired by his Fuchikoma, which appeared the Ghost in the Shell [1] manga. I also got some inspiration from the six-legged police tank seen in Ghost in the Shell [2] anime movie. (...) Thanks (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) Thanks John! (...) I'd love to see this. I've been thinking about making dioramas too, but I just don't have enough pieces... Anyways, I really think you could pull it off. (...) Collaboration... Yeah! That would be awesome. I think our styles (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) You beat me to it Mladen. (well sorta, there's a different Shirow "cop bot" that I want to emulate...) (URL) anyone that is interested this comes from "The Promethean Balance; APPLESEED; Book Four" by Masumane Shirow. Maybe I'll focus on doing (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

(...) LOL! I'm not really raising the bar, I'm just building what I like. I'm sure some of the other mecha builders could design a better quadruped police tank... ;-) (...) Thank you! Getting the pilot in there was the biggest challenge, once I got (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

Thanks Travis! The mini-gun was a last minute sorta thing. I actually envisioned this mecha having six back mounted grenades which were made of those axle pieces. After I saw this would be too large, I started making it smaller. (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: New MOC: PSU (Police Support Unit)

Excellent as usual, Mladen. I especially love the underside-- real bug-like, just like Shirow tends to design. It's funny, though-- I know the Shirow piece you referenced, but I don't actually remember a lot of walking tanks actually _in_ GITS (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Re: What do YOU do with face-less heads?

(...) I can't speak for the yellow ones but the black (and grey) faceless ones are quite useful to trainiacs. I use 2 black heads in each dummy truck (simulated power truck) I make. And since 3 of my MTW models use at least one dummy truck, I use a (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs)

Re: What do YOU do with face-less heads?

(...) Look good, I was debating just last night what to do with all my blank black heads from my Siths, now I am sure of it, columns. Looks like a neat little town, I'll have to check out some of the other pictures. I like what you used for the (...) (23 years ago, 4-Nov-01, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.build.arch)
