  Re: Greetings

Hey Eric it's good to have a new mecha builder in the group. I can't do Lcad anything so I'm always impressed by Lcad mechas. The biggest one looks like a good combination of mecha ideas. You've taken some of the "classic" (for lack of a better (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Greetings

Hello all! I've been lurking around here for a while and stealing some of your design ideas for mecha. I just recently dusted off my LEGO sets and, not being able to afford one of those Perfect-Grade Gundam models, decided to start making LEGO ones (...)   Re: New Domed Cathedral

(...) This is easily the biggest thing I've ever built. Hey, you grow up, you start thinking big :-) After looking at more domed cathedrals, it probably shouldn't be as round as it is - most domes are more elongated. (...) I guess it was more of an (...)   Re: Brickfest teaser - Ocelot

(...) Thanks Matt. This model came from my overabundance of droid heads; I made a paw, and it went from there. (...) heehee...;-) -Chris (23 years ago, 7-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: Brickfest teaser - Ocelot

(...) Well holy cripes on toast! It's an origami mech, it's a feline form (a first, I believe), and it is the most unique use for battle droid parts I have ever seen. You win. (Really, it's spectacular!) Matt (Must have put that together *BEFORE* (...) (23 years ago, 7-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Brickfest teaser - Ocelot

Hi all, In preperation for the fest, I decided to post a little teaser; my Kitty Kat. :-) (URL) (23 years ago, 7-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Domed Cathedral

Hi Eric, That is a REALLY big model. I think that the dome seems "round" enough. The scale is so big that the bricks seem to melt into a continuous sheet. The overall building layout looks like it a bit more of a mix of Romanesque and Renaissance (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  New Domed Cathedral

Well, after a rather longish break from building, I crafted a domed cathedral, somewhat in the style of St. Peter's in Rome. I was mostly striving for large architectural forms, rather than more elaborate details (that, and I got tired of not being (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch)

  Re: Q: Clip Flags?

(...) Try searching on 'flag': (URL) The Space Port flag is 891. I don't know about any 3 or 4 wide flags. Steve (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: Q: Clip Flags?

(...) The partsref doesn't include Pirate sets? (URL) is this not the part you are looking for? eric (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build)

  Q: Clip Flags?

Hey Y'all: I think I am seeing some new clip flags. Besides the old 2x2, we seem to have at least a couple more of varying lengths. Is there one that is 3 or 4 long? And isn't there an even longer one (I have seen a trans blue one in the Town Space (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: New Mecha - Azriel

(...) brick (...) Thanks for those *extremely* kind comments Jesse! And yes indeed, this mecha was built around Jupiter (Roman version of Zeus, Zeus = God). So yes, the name definitely seems suitable. ;-) Mladen Pejic, over and out! (URL) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) I think the point was the availability of orange pieces. Orange isn't as widely available as green for instance. It makes building a challenge when a rare color is featured prominently. The challenge seems to be the point and Adrian has done a (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) This is certainly a nice design, a uniqoe design, and certainly a good design for a small mecha but the orange, especially if you added some white pieces, screams 'Go Vols." I live in Tennessee, need I say more, Adrian? I believe that the (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha - Azriel

Yes He did build it IRL, and it does stand. Almost fell off your chair huh. Sounds like my initial reation too. There's just somthing about the way he builds. Keep up the good work your no slouch either! Eric (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

  Re: New Mecha: Kierbis

(...) Now I just have to get enough pieces in some other obscure colors, like lime green or purple, and then I'll try it again :) (...) The toughest thing about building this mech was the fact that the only orange plates I had to work with were 2x2 (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Yes the mirage is quite incredible I think. I hadn't seen it yet till the other day and I almost fell off my chair when I did! The only thing though, The ankle joint doesn't look to be very strong at all ( two click hinges?! ) So I'm wondering if it (...) (23 years ago, 6-Jul-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
