Thanks for the Vasa link.  An earlier time period (and a vessel that actually
survived quite a while beyond it's maiden voyage) but similiar incident is the
Mary Rose.  The Big, Big, Big Classic Pirate ship is going to wallow miserably
like most high-castled galleons (assuming it doesn't pull a Vasa).  I'm getting
seasick just imagining it rolling on the open ocean.  :-Q     $

But keeping in mind that we are dealing with Lego limitations (hull is of
limited width and does not indicate full depth), it's a fun ship.  Yes, I love
that stern balustrade.  Dunno about the stern castle being covered - the whole
point of that being open is so that your soldiers can shoot down on the foe.
In any case, it's more of the fat treasure ship that pirates are going to
capture than actually sail in.  Thanks for sharing!

The ship was based on the following picture:

That's one of the few pictures of old ships I found on the net.  If
someone can point me to any more pictures, that would be great.
Especially pictures of some old "castles" from that era.  I'd like to
build something to house my imperial guards/soldiers from all the
remaining white bricks.

Both were great pirate painters (N.C. was Pyle's student and father of Andrew Wyeth and grandfather of Jamie Wyeth and there's probably a fourth (...)
