If that was true. The database on LUGNET, Brickset, BrickLink and Perron would
have to change the years listed on all of the sets. In other words all the
information is incorrect.
And the new 2007 Star Wars sets that are in stores now or on LEGO.com should be
2006. And not forget the new #6162, 6163 sets etc. If the copyright year on the
box saids 2007, it should be 2007.
LEGO always releases a few new sets of the up and coming new year in November
and December. It is a way to show off a sample of the new sets to the customers
on what is coming up next year. It is a marketing thing that every company
does. For example car companies release their 2007 models cars in
September/October.
The bottom line it messes up in searching on LUGNET along with other LEGO fan
sites like Bricklink, Brickset and Perron.

P.S. In fact Perron website also has the 'year' incorrect on all six new
