I have completed my most recent design - a pair of Oil Lamps in the style
of Aladdin's Lamp.
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=28835
The body and spout are hollow, and the handle is plenty sturdy enough to
pick it up and carry it around by.
The removable lid is friction fit and won't fall out when turned
upside-down, yet it lifts off easily using the knob on top. The top of the
lid is 10 studs in diameter, and has a 9 stud diameter rim underneath that
fits into the main body.
This was also my first project using LDRAW/MLCAD. The initial sketch
designs were done on my own custom graph paper. Then I used MLCAD and real
bricks concurrently to both refine and document the design.
I will be keeping one for myself and giving the other to a friend for
Christmas.

| Very nice. I always like 1:1 scale models. The pair of them look good next to that vase on top of your piano. One question--is the spout hollow all the way through? Bruce (22 years ago, 26-Nov-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

| (...) Great work. I love smaller sized sculptures like this. They give the rest of us hope that we too can make a sculpture of some kind. :) As well, I'm always glad to see 'other' types of LEGO models. That is something other than another spaceship (...) | Sweet - especially the use of the slopes to smooth out the curves. Also like your greek urn. Do you mind if I copy your circle template for my next sculptural MOC? Mark (...) (22 years ago, 2-Dec-02, to lugnet.build.sculpture)
