The first phase of robofig is completed:

This is the circle cult’s ( full platoon minus a few on remote ‘assignment’ ) multi-purpose doozer utility, Mr. Mechalecha H. Mechahineyho. It will be essential in further make work endeavours, most of which I’m on a need to know basis.

Phase 1 represents a complete functional model, and phase 2 which is already underway will address the colour matching issues, improved gearing in arms and legs ( complete, no pics ) and robot storage in his feet. Phase 3 is still classified, but plans have been drawn up.

This robofig would not have been made without the inspiration from several others: primarily stabo9832’s ROBO, rexpoon’s big minifigs, fulop5’s Lego Bigifig, BuilderQ’s DoubleFig, and sumi-handy’s JumboMinifig. Thanks for the germ of an idea, this is an example of making something because of seeing stuff off the net!

Robofig’s proportions are pretty close to a minifig’s, not exact but close. It’s articulation and components are based on a minifig’s as well with a few liberties taken. Most notably is the hand joint, but there’s precedence for that with my predecessors, and should help with gripping of tools and victims.

This is also a belated 25th birthday present to the institute of the minifig, which has given lots of good play over the years!
